| Notes: | Reminiscent of retro video games, specifically the The getaway series on a PS2 the commercial was made entirely using real-life sets, actors, and practical in-camera effects instead of CGI or AI. This deliberate choice was a statement on human craftsmanship and effort, serving as a creative contrast in a world increasingly flooded with artificial intelligence. Our evident contribution to this spot was that we assisted the best possible outcome to let this wonderful concept of craft making and practical effects speak volumes. Miniatures, as shown were a part of of the set at a part of expanding this world, for example it would be impossible to make this wide open spaces to human proportions, so the main character and NPCs would be composited into these spaces. The boardroom sequence too is a miniature set. So the actors a full scale but the whole room around it is a miniature and making the two realms that are realistically different sizes - become cohesive. The glowing arrow above the main characters head was a mixture of CG, especially when the arrow is chasing him down the street, but it was also in some shots just three sheets of perspex that was being puppeteer’ed over the protagonists head. Our job was the embrace that and clean the evidence of a puppeteer - again allowing human craft to be seamless and excel. After the five day shoot, Leo Scott, the editor, cut the film in 4—5 days leaving us with just under 2 weeks for everything to be completed. |
