Launched in 2020, this identity emerged from a very close partnership between NB and senior executives and creatives from WPP Group Agency, Wavemaker. There were frustrations with the previous identity – both practical and aesthetic – and NB were briefed to help migrate the business to a new future. Inspired by a new brand strategy – Positive Provocation – the visual identity system affects, reacts and responds to the world around it. The visual identity project had three goals: 1. Express Wavemaker’s new proposition, in all markets around the world 2. Stand out from competitors and other GroupM agencies 3. Adopt a modern, smart and vibrant positioning. Guided by Wavemaker’s new brand strategy – ‘Positive Provocation’ – NB successfully argued the case for a bold rebrand rather than a tentative refresh. The logo is designed in a bespoke font and constructed from blocks which give rise to graphic illustrations and digital animations. An orange dot adds a playful element in the logo – it’s an agitator, representing the transformation Wavemaker brings to consumer experiences through media, content and state-of-the-art technology. To ‘make waves’ you have to be fearless. |
